Why the Canon R5C is My Next Video Production Must-Have!

Are
you looking to upgrade your video production and creative equipment? The Canon R5C might be the perfect camera for you! This camera has a ton of features that I touched on in a recent video. Each of its high level cinema like features make it an excellent choice for filmmakers and videographers. With its myriad of different codecs and flavors, youll be able to record in 8k in much smaller file sizes than ever before. It also has false color, a proper histogram, off speed recording, and the ability to record proxies onto the SD card. Plus, it has the ability to record continuously without overheating.

The Canon R5C also handles shadows better than its predecessor, the R5. This means you wont have to worry about clipping the blacks or pushing up into the highlights. Youll also be able to play back footage in 25 frames per second without needing to use slow motion in order to see how it will look in the final image. Not to mention, you can give clients the full 8k footage and proxy files so they can easily edit it down on their systems.

The only downsides to the R5C are the lack of in-body image stabilization and the battery life. While it would have been nice to have the option to turn the ibis on and off, it’s not a deal breaker since most of the footage will be taken on sticks or gimbals. As for the battery life, you can rig out a system with a bunch of MPF batteries and connect them to the R5C so you don’t have to keep replacing them.
